After decades of planning, the Town of Lexington has officially broken ground on a new $3.5 million highway department facility, a major investment in the infrastructure that keeps the community moving. Supported by a $1.31 million Climate Smart Communities grant from New York State, the new 9,000-square-foot facility will bring operations under one roof, improving efficiency, reducing long-term costs, and creating a more resilient future for town services. The project includes six truck bays, modern office and storage space, energy-efficient design features, rooftop solar, heat pumps, and a rainwater recycling system.
