SPECIAL MEETING –TOWN OF LEXINGTON TOWN BOARD

            The Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Lexington was called to order on January 25, 2008 at 5:00 P.M., by Supervisor Dixie Baldrey at the Lexington Municipal Building, 3542 Route 42, Lexington, NY, followed by the pledge of allegiance.

            Supervisor Dixie Baldrey said the Special Meeting was called to review the bids and award the bid for the “FEMA STREAM BANK RESTORATION – FALKE ROAD & SCHOHARIE CREEK” in the Town of Lexington.   Each Council Member had the bid prices that were received at the bid opening by Dewkitt Engineering to review.  The lowest bid proposal received was $261,865.11 from Cobleskill Stone Products, Inc., P.O. Box  220, Cobleskill, NY, 12043.

            A discussion was held.

RESOLUTION #35-08
AWARD BID / FEMA STREAM BANK RESOTATION -
                                                FALKE RD. & SCHOHAIRE CREEK

            On a motion by Council Member Keith Mellott, seconded by Council Member Paul Van Valkenburgh, the following resolution was
ADOPTED - Ayes - 5 - Baldrey, Mellott, Nelson, Van Valkenburgh, Byrne
                    Nays – 0

            Whereas, the Town of Lexington has received a list of the bid prices that were opened for the “FEMA Stream Bank Restoration Project” which will be done at Falke Road and the Schohaire Creek, from the engineering firm of Dewkett Engineers, and;
            Whereas, the lowest bidder was Cobleskill Stone Products, Inc. at a cost of $261,865.11, and;
            Whereas, Cobleskill Stone Products, Inc. has agreed to the contract with the Town of Lexington, therefore;
            This Town Board resolves to award the contract for the “FEMA Stream Bank Restoration” work to Cobleskill Stone Products, Inc., Cobleskill, NY.              

RESOLUTION #36-08
AMEND RESOLUTION #22-08

On a motion by Council Member Lynn Byrne, seconded by Council Member Keith Mellott, the following resolution was
ADOPTED - Ayes - 5 - Baldrey, Mellott, Nelson, Van Valkenburgh, Byrne
                     Nays – 0

            This Town Board resolves to amend Resolution #22-08 to make the hourly rate of the Deputy Town Clerks from $12.00 to $12.50 retroactive back to January 1st, 2008.

Casella’s Trees

            Council Member Lynn Byrne read a letter she wrote to send out to Antonella Casella regarding the trimming of the trees next to the property line of the Municipal Building.  Town Board Members agreed that it sounded alright and should be sent out.

Adjourn

            Councilmember Paul Van Valkenburgh made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Councilmember Maurice Nelson.  Everyone Agreed. 

            Supervisor Dixie Baldrey adjourned the meeting.
